RED RED RED!

So this week I finally did what I have been wanting to do! I talked last post about freak flags, and this week I chose to dye my hair the way I've wanted for a long time but i was to scared to do it!! 

So here is the before! a more natural dyed red!

Now came the fun part! I never ever bleached my hair before, always to scared!

nice orange red!!

 And here is the end result!!!! I love it so much. it is the most liberating feeling having done this!

Fly Your Freak Flags High and Be proud!

Hello My name is Erin Michelle Dowell and I love Zombies!!!

My husband Brian introduced me to the wonderful world that is all about Zombies. And I love it!

This is one of my favorite freak flags to fly! I don't know about you but I am tired of hiding all the wonderful things that are me, we live in a world that is too full of it's self that most people tend to hide in fear of being made fun of. Just earlier this week I was made fun of  for the way I was dressed. I have now after many and I mean many tears, I decided I don't give a F#$k! so over the next few blog posts I will be focusing on my freak flags!

We volunteered at a zombie 5k race that benefited cccs of Wichita!! 

I had a friend who did not like this aspect of who I was becoming and what I realized is that if they don't love or like you in ALL your beauty then you don't need them! I spent a long time in that friendship being what they wanted me to be and not what I wanted to be. Slowly but surely my true self  shined through and most of you know we didn't leave on the best of terms. It doesn't mean I don't care for this person it just is what it is and I wish them well. But I want people in my life who care about me for who I am and like to do the things I like to do!!! So be yourself!! What do you have to lose???

I went as a army pin up zombie

Brian went as a Boomer! and zombies need technology too!

Rosie my parents cat was a good sport! No she was not harmed!

We went with Ashley and Michael Karpinski with out whom this picture wouldn't have happened!! and Michael Lacy!   

Zombies are so much a part of our lives they found a way in our wedding! Our cake toppers were our favorite video game characters from a little game called "left for dead". Again thanks to the Karpinski's for making them for us!! Also we put an inside joke on our programs and those who got loved it. We put a quote from that same video game, it read "Stay positive guys I've got a good feeling about this" and anybody who has played this game knows that when Louis said that line it was normally followed by a horde or a Tank!!!

HAIR DID!!

So i spent the whole week fixing my hair and makeup, I am really becoming obsessed with vintage everything, mainly hair, so i wanted to share the many looks of my hair!

The Look for Monday was a fake bob!!!! I curled my hair with a 1 1/2 inch curling iron, sprayed and let it sit for a while, then i simply pinned the back of my hair under to create the bob effect. See this all started because I missed having this hair cut so much but i don't want to cut my hair!  My dress is from Maurice's the jacket is from a local thrift shop And my shoes which are in the picture below are an online find, not sure of the brand..

 Tuesday Brought on my take of the french twist with a little vintage flair in the front!

I Really really love the how the back of my hair turned out!!

 Wednesday Was a bad hair day turned good. It was my first try at these "bangs" the looked grate in the early morning but  Kansas wind had its way with them sooooo  LOOK BELOW!!!

I did a simple pin curl in the front left side!!

So Thursday lets talk makeup!!!!! LOVE MY RED LIPS!!!!! and my eyes are a smoky wing tip! I don't use liquid liner, my hands are not very kind!! if you know me i had my trusty B.E. on hand to line!!

Friday was a "Lazy" hair day! I flat ironed it then flipped it out in to a duck tail .

 The front i wanted to be simple so I did a simple pin curl on the left side and wore a white with black polka dots head band!!!  

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF MY HAIR!

note that a week is only a work week!!!!

Happy Happy Anniversary!! A ONEderful Weekend!!!

10-1-11 IS A VERY SPECIAL DAY!!!! So special we celebrated all weekend!!!

Brain got us a cake!!!

To Start off our weekend we found a horde of Zombies!!!  

Then on Sunday it was time for the Topeka zoo!!!!

My wonderful in laws are the BEST!!!! We also went to celebrate Ginny going on her mission to Haiti!!  We Love you XOXO!
